Open Source, RSS, and Podcasts

This week we learned all about open source, RSS feeds, and podcasts.

I particulary like the Tony Vincent site LEARNING IN HAND (www.learninginhand.com) One of the links will take you to Tony's podcasting page where you can do anything that deals with podcasting.

A great open source site I found was www.schoolforge.net. This site provided links to many great educational open source programs.

Hi Amanda:

Thanks so much for the Audacity worksheet. Now I can't wait to get back to class and try some of these things out.

Thanks also for some of the links on your blog. Another thing that I know I will definitely check out.

Hello Amanda!

I agree that this week we learned so much about podcasting, open sources, and RSS feeds! I can't believe the wealth of knowledge that is out there! What I want to konw is, who comes up with this technology? Everything is becoming so advanced.

I know you teach HS math so this website may be a bit elementary, but I thought the podcasts on it were great for reviewing the basic skills that all math grows upon!

Thanks for sharing your sites as well!

Take care,

Hi Amanda! I'm the person designing the SchoolForge website, so thanks for the kind words!

I'm glad you found the software listing useful, and I would like to add that the discuss list at SchoolForge is a great place to ask questions about getting started. There are many very smart people there that are enthusiastic about Free Software. I couldn't think of a better place for someone to go if they have questions about where to get started.
